 So I went to the Stone Pony to see Desol on March 25th. Billy Joel's daughter opened for them. Now I know that she hates being called that, but for the hour she played she didn't say her name once, So i really couldn't remember it. I do remember however is that she was great. She was cheerful, even when singing all her tragic youth songs. She played the keyboard, I am sure that is inspired by her father, but she didn't totally take on his style. She had an original sound and I enjoyed it. It was a little bluesy and even though her voice wasn't uber-strong, I could still make out all her lyrics and her voice held your attention. I was dead center and it sounded nice, the voice, the keys, the non evasive backup band… they call came together nicely. Did I mention she was a little cutie? She was. She was the standard jersey type brunette. I loved the big furry boots and one my favorite things was her set-list was like scribbled on paper that she unshaved from her pocket. She is an artist and was really a great surprise. |
Alexa Ray Joel @ the Stone Pony in Asbury Park ,NJ I sent her a few email questions.. She has to check with her agent if she can answer them.. So i doubt he will approve of Gleny.com. But I still say she was a great little performer. |

These drinks are guaranteed to mess you up in the shortest period
of time.
1. Jaeger Bombs-This is when you drop a shot of Jaeger in a cup of Red Bull. Automatic blackout to all who drink more than a few….. 2. Tequila-In the dictionary under violence, you can find tequila… 3. Shark Truce-Liquid Pine Sol. For more info, ask Sponge or Rob B…… 4. Captain Crunch-An old favorite. A layered
drink of Captain Morgan, Amaretto, 5. Mind Eraser-The title says it all. A layered drink of Kahlua, Vodka, and soda. Banned this myself a few years back thanks to the Shot Bitch. 6. Cement Mixer- Shot of Baileys gargled for a few followed by lime juice. I haven't done this in so long so I am a little confused. Just realize that afterwards it feels like your mouth is cemented shut. 7. Screaming Nazi-A mix of Jaeger and Blackhouse. The name says it all. 8. Three Wisemen- A mixture of three types of whisky. Potent and Deadly! 9. Jaegermeister-Without the Red Bull, is just as effective in causing blackouts. 10. Irish Car Bombs-You drop a shot of Baileys and Jamison into a half a pint of Guinness and chug it. Very tasty and easy to do but watch out in twenty minutes….. If you can find someone with the tolerance to do all these shots in one night, let me know of the results! Although you may see me out doing a couple of these, I try to avoid them at all costs.
