more of these coming very soon, when I figure where to put them...hehe... BUT SPRINKLE TEAM PROFILES WILL BE ADDED SOMEWHERE, and THE PHOTO WILL BE HERE WHEN THEY ARE READY...

SPRINKLES AND their HISTORYFEAR

BY: gleny

Sprinkles are very small pieces of candy used as a decoration or to add texture to desserts – typically cakes or cupcakes, cookies, doughnuts, ice cream, and some puddings. The candies are usually too small to be eaten individually and are in any case not intended to be eaten by themselves, being nearly flavorless. However, it's a Dutch custom to use chocolate sprinkles, that obviously do have a taste, as sandwich topping.

Popular terminology tends to overlap, while manufacturers are more precise with their labeling. What consumers call sprinkles covers several types of candy decorations which are sprinkled informally over a surface rather than placed in specific spots. Sanding sugar; crystal sugar; nonpareils; silver, gold, and pearl dragées – not to be confused with pearl sugar (which is also sprinkled on baked goods); and jimmies or hundreds-and-thousands are all used this way, along with a newer product called "sugar shapes" or "sequins". These latter come in a variety of shapes for holidays or themes, such as Halloween witches and pumpkins, or flowers and dinosaurs

Some American manufacturers deem the elongated opaque sprinkles the official sprinkles. In British English, these are hundreds-and-thousands, and multi-colored. They are also called jimmies in the Northeast US, although here they are often chocolate (like the Dutch Hagelslag).

In the 1930s, the Just Born candy company of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, produced a topping called chocolate grains. The man who ran the machine that made these chocolate grains was named Jimmy Bartholomew.

"Thus, his product became known as jimmies," said Ross Born, the chief executive officer. He was told this story by his grandfather and company founder, Sam Born. Just Born registered jimmies as its trademark, and continued producing jimmies until the mid-1960s - which is why the name was so popular here.

Have you had your "Tail" Gate Lately

by: shortbus Jay

Looking a great way to change up your partying experience this summer? Then you definitely have to check out a tailgate party Gleny.com-style at the PNC Bank Arts Center. Tailgating is the favorite pastime of many concertgoers and this year gleny.com has brought it up to the next level for 2006 concert season.

So far the bus has tailgated for 4 concerts this season with many more to come and each time has been a kick ass time. The bus always is sure to gather a good crowd, most people love us and the rest.. well they just need to loosen up! we've met lots of fun people this year and had lots of good time. I've been to all four and each concert gets better and better! Whether its hanging rooftop on the bus, or walking around down bottom and hitting up the 5 gallon jug of concert juice, there's always good times to be had. The bus is stocked with plenty of toys to keep things fun… lei's, candy necklaces, and there's talk of maybe some beerpong at upcoming tailgates!

As for those who sometimes rain on the tailgate parade, the bus has been pretty good this season staying outta the way of the po-po. Luckily we've got some cool guys that are fans of the site, but there's still a few that have to be converted. Heh, so for those of you fans in blue, you now have your mission this month!!!

So where's the bus parked? Well, the bus is always pretty much in the same spot… in the front parking lot on the Parkway Northbound side lot. A big thanks goes out to Scott for the parking hook-up and all the hospitality, the gleny bus loves you!!

So next time you are at a concert at PNC, take a look for the gleny.com bus. You can't miss us , so don't be shy! Stop by and visit, who knows you might even get lei'd! Tickets to the show or not, it's worth the trip!

my Buddy Lily-Rose is retiring....

MY little buddy from belguim is retiring her porn star career.. I am quite saddened, but she is going to do a little site, that is sweeter and less hardcore. Sweetlikenothing.com is the new site project of Cynthia (also known as Lily from Lily-rose.net).

It will contain thousands of "artsy" pictures from various style (nude, retro, alternative,...).

Cynthia always wated to be a model and not a porn star, so this is her bridging the gap.. hehe. She will have more of an interaction with the people that go to the site, it wont cost as much. It is kind of fun cuz her description of her site, is kind of what gleny.com...

"You'll be able to get to know me better by reading my blog, asking me questions in the forum, chatting with me during cam sessions, watching my silly vids etc It can be described as an interactive and personnal website of a 20 years old model wannabe :) Price will be around 5 (8$) for one month access"

Here are some of her links, and I will be sure to download all her stuff from www.lily-rose.net, so I will never forget her glory days...
