AVON
BREAST CANCER WALK IN NYC.....
by
Mrs Gleny
What
was the last action that you took to make the
world a better place? Have you changed a life
today? Have you saved the earth? There are many
ways to change the world, and I'm sure you've
done at least one this week. Perhaps you cheered
up a friend or recycled your plastic. Maybe
you inspired someone, somewhere, to do something
great. Each of these actions will in fact make
the world a better place, and that is simply
amazing. I'd like to take a moment, however,
to tell you about something even bigger: a way
in which ordinary people come together and perform
extraordinary feats. No, I'm not going to review
NBC's new show, "Heroes." I'm going
to tell you about the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
October is Breast Cancer Month, but Avon has
kept busy all year long. Every year, the Avon
Foundation sponsors a series of two-day, 39.2-mile
walks throughout the United States. From Charlotte
to the LA beaches to the Big Apple, thousands
of men and women walk for something they believe
in: the fight against breast cancer.
Gleny and I participate in the NY Walk every
year, although one of these days we'd like to
try another one. It all began in 2002, when
I felt the urge to do something special. The
Avon Walk seemed to be it. I believed in the
cause, loved to walk, and was ready to give
myself a new challenge to make a difference.
I'll admit that I didn't train as much as I
should have, but I worked my butt off fundraising,
and by the time all was said and done, I had
raised $2,122.00. After much preparation and
hard work, the day arrived. So did the rain.
To make a long (depressing) story short, the
Rockland County Board of Health shut the walk
down after fifteen women were taken to the ER
due to hypothermia. We mourned the loss of our
three-day, sixty-mile journey, but eventually
accepted the fact that tit wasn't about the
walk; it was about the money. And we sure had
raised a ton of it! Over nine million dollars,
if memory serves.
The next year, I somehow convinced Gleny to
walk with me. Threats of Hurricane Isabella
fell on deaf ears, and the weather was perfect.
In addition to raising over $5,000.00 between
the two of us, we completed the forty-mile trek
(they shortened it that year). We laughed, we
cried, and most of all, we stood up and made
a difference.
Even with all that difference making, we decided
that once was enough when it came to walking
a marathon and a half over the course of one
weekend. We're philanthropists, but come on!
We're not crazy! Since 2003, Glen and I have
accepted the role as Crew Team Leaders for the
Avon Walk, which basically means that we act
as leaders for our team (duh), which in this
case is Hospitality. We'll spend the entire
weekend in NYC cheering on and supporting the
thousands of men and women who will join in
the fight.
If you know someone involved in the Avon Walk,
be sure to tell them how amazing they are. If
they're walkers, that means that they've raised,
at minimum, the $2,000.00 required to participate
and will walk at least 26.2 miles in two days.
If they're crew, they'll spend their entire
weekend volunteering their time to pick up trash,
feed and hydrate walkers, lift gallons of Gatorade,
and smile for two days straight. The Avon Walk
for Breast Cancer is an unbelievable event comprised
of unbelievable individuals filled with unimaginable
spirit and dedication. There's simply nothing
like it in the world.
Of
course, I couldn't write this article without
asking for your support. If you think that the
Avon Walk is a worthy cause, support us by making
a donation to our efforts. Visit Gleny's site
and donate today!

Some
Replies to my Halloween Bulletin

| i
need help,, i need anyone that has something
to say , to say it..
magazine
content desperately needed... just write
a paragraph answer any of these questions..
1.
what do you like about halloween?
2. are you excited about halloween?
3. any past halloween highlights or stories?
4. anything fall related, end of summer,
change of jersey seasons... is now the
right time to settle down into a winter
relastionship?
5. any music that has recently come out,
or movies that are enjoyed or have been
waiting for for a while, that you want
to discus
6. any kinds of personal sex stories or
experiences...

Good
movies to watch for halloween? try the underworld
movies with kate beckinsale. you get warewolves
and vampires battling each other in the same
flick. the only thing missing is frankenstine;
though it would be totally out of place here.
you also get lots and lots of guns. to top
it all off, one heck of a story.
-
Much
attention has to be paid. learning which characters
are the vamps and the lycans(werewolves) and
their respective descendants make understanding
the story a heck of a lot easier. watching
the first underworld several times will make
watching the second one that more enjoyable.
they are the types of movies in which something
new is caught everytime they are watched.
-
Finally,
there is the style of the movies. great marriage
of modern day technology with old world settings.
the name of the city or country the movies
take place is never really mentioned per say.
it can be deduced that it is somewhere in
europe. the exact place does not really matter.
the warring armies are equipped with the latest
high tech gadgets. the costumes are also a
blend of old and new. both movies simply ooze
of cool.

Lonely
Girl comes clean
by
Gleny
We
all knew lonelygirl was fake, but I went and dug
a little more and found out some stuff. Aparently
she is an actress and there were 4 guys that made
the little videos just as a goof. They say they
weren't selling anything... but they made 43 and
the world pretty much knew they were fake around
the 5th video. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY and TIME
and ENERGY...but they did get a lot of traffic.
Hopefully one day I can get that kind of YOUTUBE
traffic.. One of my best video blogs is linked
right here, it has a little trailer at the end
of the actress that plays lonelygirl in some film
school project. Most of you have probably seeen
this blog video, but if you haven't , it is hilarious.
Keep in mind like most of my videos it was a one
taker and really limited editting.. If you get
punchy feel free to look around at my other videos
on YOUTUBE, you might like some
