12 reasons scrubs is the best show ever

by:Mrs Gleny

" Long intros, short credits
o Sometimes I forget that it's still the beginning of the show because the intro segment is so long. Then, when it comes time for credits, they're only about 5 seconds long! They have a longer version that they tried once, but they decided to keep it short in order to have more minutes in the show itself. That rocks!

" Heartfelt without being cheesy
o Everyone always asks me why I hate reading Nicholas Sparks books. They're just to ridiculously cheesy! Granted, I've only read Message in a Bottle, and maybe I'm not giving him a fair shot, but ugh it's just ridiculous. Scrubs has never made me feel that way. The way that the show approaches tragedy and loss is like nothing I've seen before. Your tears can turn from tears of laughter into tears of sorrow and back in seconds.

" Consistent
o I'm not going to say that I don't have favorite episodes; of course I do. The 100th episode (Wizard of Oz parody) is my all-time #1 pick, but I don't think there are any that are my least favorite. I don't think I've ever sat down for an episode of Scrubs and walked away disappointed. It's always funny. It's always sincere (albeit a surreal, loopy sort of sincere). It's always fantastic.

" Makes you love the characters you hate; makes you hate the characters you love
o Just when you think that Dr. Kelso can't be more of a jerk, he goes and calls Enid and says something romantic to her. Just when you think JD is just too funny and caring to be real, he goes and says something horrible and hurts his friend's feelings. And Dr. Cox…well, even though he's mean most of the time, we all know we're supposed to love him anyway. I don't think anyone cares as much as he does. Either way, you're not supposed to love or hate any of the characters all of the time. They're well developed and multidimensional, and that's why I love watching their relationships.

" Dr Acula
o JD is always talking about his movie, Dr. Acula. It's about a doctor who is also a…well, you've probably figured it out yourself. It's another one of those running jokes; they use it just enough to keep it funny but not too much as to subject it to overkill. I love when they show clips from it. That must be a hoot to film!

" Stunts
o The physical comedy on "Scrubs" is just too funny. You never know which character will be tripping over the Janitor's mop, falling off the counter, slamming into lunch carts, pill carts, or any other sorts of carts. Zach Braff does most of his own stunts, although now he has a herniated disk and has to settle down a bit. A shame.

" Risks
o Sometimes Scrubs is filled with good old family humor. Aaannnnnddd…sometimes it's not. In fact, sometimes the jokes are so off-color that I feel like I'm going to Hell just for laughing. But you know what? I'm ok with that.

" Running jokes
o My personal favorite running joke is the one about Dr. Mickhead. It started with a pun…probably the one you're thinking. But then to bring it up like 14 episodes later…that's just awesome. It's almost like a payoff to the fans that hang in there for every episode and keep the show going despite its erratic schedule (I can't tell you how many people say they don't watch it because they don't know when it's on). In Season 5, they made an episode called My Déjà vu, and they used jokes from all the way back in Seasons 1 and 2 (in YOUR endo). Good stuff.

" Lots of guest stars
o Michael J. Fox
o Heather Locklear
o Tara Reid
o Brendan Frasier
o Heather Graham
o to name just a few - there are tons

" Girls' names
o They must have a book of baby names that they use to come up with all of the different girls' names that Dr. Cox calls JD. I love that he calls JD a different name every time (or the classic, "newbie"), but he is consistent with everyone else, like Barbie for Elliot and Nervous Guy for Doug. The best part about the name thing is when Dr. Cox calls JD JD. Whenever that happens, it's always at a time when tears are rolling down my face.

" Elliot's bras
o They pay special attention not to repeat the color and/or style of Elliot's bras. I just think it's hilarious that she shows her bra that much that they'd need to even worry about it, and then they follow through on it.

" Ted and his a capella band
o I know it's terrible to laugh at someone else's sorrow, but Ted is just hilarious! His life just can't get any worse, and I crack up hysterically every time he's on the screen. His a capella band, The Worthless Peons, is actually his band in real life. I love that they let him bring that on the show.

I was going to do a whole BACK TO SCHOOL girl in uniform shoot this month, but it didn't happen. Here is a nice shot of our friend Christina just to quench that little fetish. I think next month I found 2 school girls to pose in a church for the Halloween Edition.. I am going to be posting some of the never before seen by public HALLOWEEN 05 photos.. should be worth a looksie.
